WHO WE ARE
We are Matt and Grace — a husband-and-wife photographer and videographer team based in Bellagio, on Lake Como.
Matt studied cinema and photography, and his work has been exhibited at some of Italy’s most prestigious photography events. Grace has a past in classical studies before turning to videography — a background that gives her a particular eye for history, light, and the way places carry meaning. Together, we started our careers photographing weddings across Italy under our studio Matt and Grace, developing a cinematic, editorial style shaped by our roots in fashion and advertising.
Lake Como came later — and it stayed. We moved to Bellagio and began specialising in the intimate, high-stakes moments that happen here: proposals at Villa del Balbianello at sunset, elopements in gardens that have stood for centuries, couples arriving by wooden boat to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Over ten years and more than 900 couples photographed, this is what we do best.
Lake Como Couples is the answer to a specific question: what happens when two photographers who truly know a place dedicate themselves entirely to capturing love there?
Our style
Our images are shaped by cinema more than by photography. Matt’s background in film studies means we think in frames, in light, in narrative — every session has a beginning, a middle, and an end. We are drawn to geometry and architecture, to the way a loggia frames a couple, to the reflection of a villa in still water, to the moment just before and just after the obvious shot.
Grace’s background in classical studies adds another layer — a sensitivity to place, to history, to the weight that centuries of beauty carry. When we photograph at Villa del Balbianello or Villa Monastero, we are not just documenting a moment. We are placing two people inside a story that has been unfolding for hundreds of years.
The result is photography that feels editorial without being cold, cinematic without being theatrical, and timeless without being stiff. Our couples often tell us the images feel like film stills — which is exactly what we are aiming for.

We love to make you feel relaxed, comfortable and to take candid photos of your couple.

Our approach is really different from traditional photographers.
We love to capture the genuine you, without stress and poses.
We take a walk on the beach, we take a tour on a boat, we encourage you in being yourself.
